If you PS3 is overheating or running loud you could have a defective fan. Replacing this part fixes overheating issues in some cases. We also recommend replacing the thermal paste. If you fan is persistently loud this could be caused due to diminished thermal paste that needs to be replaced on the CPU and GPU chips. In some cases you might have to remove the IHS or ‘de-lid’ your PS3. Check our video here on how to do this.
